A Successful Launch of the Junior Girls Section

1 year ago By Zubie Chaston

. . . . the future of the Fiveways Ladies Team have arrived!

Following the success of the junior girls open day on October 30th, Coaches Zubie Chaston and Michelle Ruddock prepared to launch the girls section at Fiveways. On November 8th, a cold and wet Sunday morning, 5 very eager, determined and enegertic U13 girls arrived at the club ready to start training! The session was all based on the core skill of handling aimed as a basic introduction to the sport. The girls progressed well through playing a game of cowboys and indians, excellently planned by Michelle, then demonstrating the skills in a game of touch, ending with a game of raid the nest and a relay for a bit of additional fun. The end of the session saw all 5 girls very red faced, muddy, smiling and eager to return the next week - what else could a coach ask for! Success! Junior rugby at Fiveways has been re-established!

Training for U13 girls will be every Sunday from 10.30-11.30am, changing facilities are available along with showers should any participant wish to use them. Refreshments for any parents wishing to stay are also available.

All girls in year 7 and 8 are welcome to join us, please contact Zubie Chaston on 07704761159 or email fivewaysrfc@hotmail.com for more information.
